SMT ARADHANA SINGH

Smt. Aradhana Singh is head of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU), Khunti, Jharkhand Police and has been working proactively to break the organised crime network in Jharkhand, which is a hub for human trafficking cases in India. Smt. Singh joined the police department in the year 1992 and was first posted in Ranchi district, where she came across the issue of human trafficking and since then has been closely involved in breaking human trafficking rackets and rescuing children and women trafficked from Jharkhand.

She has led several successful rescue operations against human trafficking in the region leading to rescue of numerous victims from exploitation and has ensured that prime trafficking kingpins are arrested. She has also earned accolades for successfully intervening in a number of trafficking cases and has apprehended around 20 high profile traffickers accused for trafficking of more than 1000 children and young girls from Jharkhand, like Panna Lal, Baba Bamdev, Bharti Nag, Gayatri Yadav being in the top of the list.  Shakti Vahini, in partnership and with support of Ms. Aradhana Singh, has ensured successful interventions in several human trafficking cases from Jharkhand to ensure that victims are provided with all forms of support services required.

SMT. MANJU SNEHLATA HEMBROM

Smt. Manju Senhlata Hembrom, Ex-Member, National Commission for Women, joined the commission as a member in year 2006. Hailing from a political family, Ms. Hembrom has been proactively working for the progress and upliftment of women, particularly tribals, for several years.

As member of the National Commission for Women, Smt. Hembrom has worked extensively for protection of rights of women & girls & has undertaken special efforts to ensure their protection from all forms of abuse and exploitation. In her efforts to protect women and children from Human Trafficking, Smt. Hembrom has worked extensively to take action against illegal placement agencies established in Delhi NCR region and has ensured action against such establishments.

SMT. AARTI KUJUR

Smt. Aarti Kujur is Ex-Chairperson of Jharkhand Commission for Protection of Child Rights and has worked extensively since the last 10 years on the issue of child rights across Jharkhand. As the chairperson, she has taken several initiatives to combat human trafficking in the state.

Over the years, she has extensively supported Shakti Vahini, in its efforts to strengthen the child rights protection mechanism in Jharkhand. Under her leadership the joint meetings of district convergence meetings of all child related agencies, Anti Human Trafficking Unit and District Child Protection units were initiated in 2015. She has also been involved in several rescue operation of children and continues to undertake efforts to protect children from all forms of abuse & exploitation.

KANWAR AMAR JIT SINGH

Kanwar Amar Jit Singh, born and raised in Britain, is a member of the erstwhile Kapurthala royal family. He is an art dealer by profession, who has been strongly advocating for women’s and LGBTQ+ rights over the years. His gallery predominantly champions historically overlooked female & minority artists.

With his commitment to protect rights of women and children’s victims of human trafficking, Kanwar Amar Jit Singh has come forward to support Shakti Vahini’s mission to protect women and children in India from all forms of abuse & exploitation. He has been associated with Shakti Vahini since 2020 and continues to support our work on combatting gender-based violence and child trafficking.
