Minor girl rescued near metro station

Gurgaon CarePUBLISHED IN THE HINDUA 14-year-old girl from Jharkhand was rescued near MG Road metro station here on Sunday in a joint operation by the Gurgaon Police and Shakti Vahini.

The police acted on a tip-off received from a well-wisher who found the girl wandering near the metro station.

The minor girl, recalling her ordeal, told the police that she was brought to Delhi with a few more girls by a person for the purpose of providing them with work.

After reaching Delhi, the person placed all the girls, including herself, in different households as domestic help.

As per the information provided by the minor girl, she was placed in a household in Delhi where she had to do all the chores, including baby-sitting. While working, she befriended an auto-rickshaw driver named Sanju living next door to her employer’s house. On Saturday, Sanju lured her out of the house and allegedly raped her and then abandoned her near the metro station. According to the girl, Sanju had also sexually assaulted her many times before.

After the rescue, the girl was taken for medical examination and then taken to a children home as per the Children Welfare Committee order. A case has been registered under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the POCSO Act.
