A day after a minor domestic help was rescued from the house of a businessman in Sector 15 here, the Faridabad Police on Thursday registered a case under the Juvenile Justice Act in this connection.
“We have registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 23 of the JJ Act based on the complaint of non-government organisation Shakti Vahini. More sections could be added to the FIR during the course of investigation if need arises,” said a senior Faridabad Police officer.
Meanwhile, the Gurgaon Child Welfare Committee along with the local police mounted raid at the Nathurpur village address of Triveni Placement Agency that had supplied the girl to her Faridabad employer. “The agency owner, Rajesh, has already been detained by the Gurgaon Police on Wednesday night in connection with an attempt to rape case and taken to Panipat. We seized some documents revealing that the agency had supplied 20-30 women as domestic helps. The details about the placement of minor girls will be revealed during the interrogation of Rajesh, a native of Jharkhand. His wife and daughter were present at home at the time of raid,” said District Probation Officer (Gurgaon) Nisha Singh, who is attached to the Child Welfare Department.
“The raid was conducted after the Faridabad Child Welfare Committee approached their Gurgaon counterpart and sought thorough investigation into the case,” said Rishi Kant of Shakti Vahini.
